Coastal Dreams; Discussion for most intriguing net soap

So, I just watched the first two episodes. (They're easy to watch, surprisingly; I mean, they're less than 3 minutes -- who fuckin' knew that was possible?!)

The opening theme is okay but the logo at the end of it seems WAY too cheap and amateur for a network-produced soap or show of any kind.

The acting is bearable and the writing (from what I can tell for the few minutes we get) is okay. Mostly plot-based.

It's nice that they can use a real house and exterior shots and things that other soaps can't get away with these days (guess that's due in part to the low cost of producing this show, being that it's 3 minutes and all? And only airs twice a week?)

I'm intrigued. Why do they want Zoe?

That's pretty much the only storyline so it's the only one I can comment on, lol.

I like it.

Danica Stewart is a good actress when away from Passions LOL

My guess is that it's her stalker boyfriend Sebastian? In the promo it shows a woman telling her that evil is after her.

It's weird to think about this being a 12 week show since it's technically only one hour long

Kam Heskin needs to be on a network soap pronto!

I might check it out, but knowing that each episode is only 3 minutes doesn't give me much incentive, LOL.

^ Wait until week 12 and you can knock the whole series out in an hour

That's the thing, though. To me it's silly that it's so short, but I'd think that might be a plus: the duration. After all, you needn't invest five hours a week; just six minutes a week. It's the soap, one might say, for people in this fast-paced generation.

I think it could be a little longer, at least like 5 min each Tues and Thurs. These two episodes seemed too short. The whole thing was weird. It's an interesting premise and the acting is decent, but the time length is a big turn off for me, it's just too short. I may give it a couple more episodes before I sign off for good though.

I wonder if this is an experiment for something longer and bigger. Perhaps a new soap, even half hour, but on tv. Heck though, even if they extended the time and kept it online it would be more worth it, IMO.

How about those sets, huh? Esp that house!

I'm interested and I'm going to keep up with it; see where it goes.

^ That's the trouble, OneBadKitty. I think they're not sets. It seems they're actually shooting at someone's house. :o

Which allows for a nice "set," but still... :o

That other online soap, Prom Queen, is like 1 minute a day or something. I started watching it due to hype but lost interest. It was supposed to run for 3 months and be 90 min at the end of it...

April is such a CUNT! Sorry, but after watching episode 4 that's the only way to put it. So Zoe is there minding her own business, Christian sneaks up behind her and she gets scared, knocks over her jewelry box and he stoops down to help her pick it up, then April comes back from her trip, back to her home (where Zoe's staying), and takes a picture of Zoe and the guy picking up THE JEWELRY BOX, with her camera phone, calls her a bitch and says she's stealing her boyfriend.

What a delusional BITCH!

Poor Kam. To go from Sheridan to the most illogical, irrational character in soaps. That scene made NO sense at all.

But "Coastal Dreams" is rockin'. Love the prod. values still.

I'm still pissed about it. April was just SO unfair in episode three! I HAVE to watch episode four to see if there's any rationale behind her sudden attitude shift.

Wow, this soap is so addicting!

Oh, wow. It was just a fake cliffhanger. Huh. Didn't see that one coming. But that's sort of ridiculous. So she was just being a playful girl like women are with each other. She said "bitch" in jest, you see. But what's up with her LICKING HER INDEX FINGER when she showed up in the lingerie for Christian? April was TOTALLY suggesting "blowjob" with that. That would have NEVER aired on an NBC soap. so we see one perk to Internet dramas. They're a little riskier.

But what's up with Christian? Looks like he's in cahoots with Zoe's psycho ex, judging from how he had a drawing of the jewelry box. And he KNOWS about the key inside of it that Zoe herself just discovered? This soap just got VERY interesting. What's the box all about? I'd like to know!

Oh, gotta add: Thanks "Coastal Dreams" writers. I wasted the "C" word on a character who didn't deserve it after all! Damn. And you can only use a word like that just about once a month before it gets offensive and the word loses it's value because it's tossed around too much. *sigh* :(

I watched the first one. Not since. Also watched the first "Crescent Heights" from P&G.

Roger, I highly recommend watching more. It's VERY addicting. The third episode has the STUPIDEST cliffhanger EVER in soaps (especially considering how it picks up in ep. 4), but the show, as a whole, is worth it.
